Manhart is well-known for giving a makeover for some of Germany's finest cars. In the recent past, the tuner cranked the BMW M3 and M4 up to 611 horsepower. Now, you can see the enhanced version of Volkswagen Golf GTI with some sporty visual upgrades and a huge power boost to make the ultimate Golf GTI - the Manhart Golf GTI 290.

Manhart has set the Golf GTI 290 apart from the standard Golf GTI by fitting an aggressive rear diffuser and added H&R springs to cut down the ride height by 1.57 inches. The tailor-made Golf GTI also rides on special 19-inch multi-spoke rims.

The stock Golf GTI's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder generally produces 245 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. But Manhart has enhanced the output to 290 hp and torque to 425 lb-ft by using its in-house MHtronik module which is quite similar to Golf R.

Golf GTI 290 accelerates faster than the standard Golf GTI car. It will touch 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds when equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Apart from the aforementioned cosmetic and performance tweaks from Manhart, the tuner has also done some unusual stuff inside the cabin: a swanky starry sky headliner with LED lights that glow the interior. Manhart has got this idea from Rolls-Royce.

As such, there is no information on price, but these tweaks will surely raise the price of the base Golf GTI, which begins from $28,695.
